Las Vegas is a fantasy land, located near the border of Arizona and California, about 450km from the city of Los Angeles. Las Vegas is the most populous city in Nevada and its name means “The meadows” in Spanish. An adult playground for most of the year, it has legalized gambling, topless lounges and glamorous nightclubs. Alcohol is available 24 hours and various forms of entertainment, dancing, daily entertainment shows, auto racing, golf, conventions, etc are conducted year round.

The most visited landmark is the "Strip" or street which is about 6.7 km long formally called " Las Vegas Boulevard South ". Many of the world's largest hotels, casinos and resorts are located on this street.

Resorts including the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Flamingo, Mirage, Bellagio, Bally's are just a few of the thousands of hospitality establishments that line “The Street". Many of these resorts take up acres of land with amusement parks, lakes, animal parks, botanical gardens, towers, roller coasters, aquariums and video arcades that enable tourists to enjoy an unforgettable holiday. Also, top name entertainers regularly appear at the glitzy, popular shows that are abundant in this city.

Other facilities include the Bali Hai Golf club, natural wonders such as the Lake Mead National recreation are, Red Rock canyon, Valley of Fire and the Engineering wonder, the Hoover Dam.

Many of the hotels and resorts have shopping arcades associated with them. There shops are very upscale and the prices are sometimes steep. Even cars such as Ferrari are on sale at some of these places. The shopping centers on the Strip are more expensive that the markets in the Downtown area or outlet stores located far away from the Strip. Credit Cards, ATM cards and cash are usually accepted in most of these shopping centers.
